I'm a bit at a loss here. Where exactly do you draw a line between foonas and foonas-em? My first thought was, that I can either install foonas or foonas-em onto my Linkstation. But now I see, that I will be able to install foonas within foonas-em. So foonas-em is the base distribution, that's also saved in the flash (em-mode), right? And on top of that, all the nice user utilities like firefly media server will be in foonas. But wait a minute - foonas-em already comes with a web ui for the installation of foonas. Will foonas integrate its features into this web ui or will it install another one?

If your firmware is based on the Linux 2.6 kernel is it easy enough for you to include ATAoE (ATA over Ethernet) support?

If so, please contact me via email as we'd like to assist.

Thanks Kaiten. We are happy to report that QNAP shipped us TS-209 boards instead and that foonas-em already successfully boots on this platform with bbradleys patches to the Orion git repository in our svn, however there is more work to be done for this platform!

Good to see that vendors are supporting 3rd party solutions.. Keep up the good work. Good luck with the development.

First comment on this blog! yeah!

...i hope this really comes true.
jonli447 and lb_worm from our forums worked so hard on finishing the 2.6.22 port....and at the end there were still this strange XFS issues.

i cannot wait for a working kernel and therefore full foonas support for the LS Pro/LS Live/Kurobox Pro!
